The Educational Art Show
All students and teaching staff at the Oslo Academy of Fine Arts have been asked to participate with any kind of work or project, the only limitation being the amount of physical space available in the exhibition space. All professors at the Academy have been asked to contribute a short text relating to the circumstance from which this show has resulted, to be published at the opening of the show.

Malmøgata Fine Arts Project Space
Malmøgata Fine Arts Project Space (MFAPS) is a temporary exhibition and project space, situated in a 500m2 former warehouse space on the third floor of Malmøgata 5. The Oslo National Academy of the Arts has provided the Oslo Academy of Fine Arts with the funds to refurbish and rent this space for a period of six months. This is due to there having been provided no other alternative public exhibition space available to the Academy at present, despite the fact that exhibiting in a public gallery is part of the curriculum for the Bachelor program.

The space in Malmøgata was found and suggested as an exhibition space on a student initiative. Students have built approximately 70 meters of wall on their own time in order to turn MFAPS into a usable exhibition and project space. As well, several hundred square metres of white paint have been applied. Approximately 25% of the total student mass has been able to participate in this process. In addition to providing funds for materials and rent, The Oslo Academy of Fine Arts and its parent organization, the Oslo National Academy of the Arts has provided some logistical support for the project.

After The Educational Art Show is finished, MFAPS will host student exhibitions every second week, as well as function as a flexible work and project space, hosting, amongst other things, student-initiated curatorial projects. After the six month rent period expires, there is no fixed plan for the continued use of the space.
